Students are frequently asked to complete research assignments related to U.Va. Athletics and the history of sports. The Athletics Department retains most of the official records pertaining to their history. Todd Goodale (teg2v@Virginia.EDU)  who’s in Athletics External Affairs, has pointed researchers to sources in the past and may have suggestions of other Athletics staff that may be of help.

The UVA Athletics Annual report is available online back to 2001 and contains some statistical and financial information.  The above link also contains the UVA Athletic Foundation financial reports, which are available online back to about 2014.

Other than the Cavalier Daily, Corks & Curls, and some publicity photographs, Special Collections and University Archives has very little material about UVA Sports, particularly after 1970.

The Daily Progress, Richmond Times-Dispatch, other news sources including Sports Illustrated, and SportDiscus may also be helpful sources of information.
